Oh this is such a pretty pattern!
I have such an enormous stash of yarns built up over the last few years. Now that I'm retired I've promised my OH that I will shrink it. I must admit, I did give myself a bit of a fright when I tried to work out what it was worth for insurance purposes. The Hobbii yarns in particular are USD26 each and I currently have 83 cakes! That alone is over USD2k and that's not counting all the Stylecraft yarns I have which are also online orders from the UK to New Zealand. All in all, I must have at least NZ$5k at least in my stash. That's a very scary thought!
So I chose 4 of the Black Friday cotton cakes for the full size, using a 4mm hook. Now I usually use the Twister cakes with either a 3mm or a 3.5mm hook and 4 of the 1000m cakes usually givers me plenty left over. Unfortunately I hadn't realised that the cotton cakes are only 800m each. I reached R68 and had to order a cake each of the plain natural and black (actually I ordered 2 cakes of each plus 2 of plain white to be on the safe side). Just as well I did order 2 cakes of each as I ended up playing yarn chicken with the natural 1st cake and had to use a few inches of the 2nd cake.
I also did one as usual in the baby size. This one I chose pretty pale pastels for.
